No Jalsa....not yet... As you said, availability is also becoming a serious issue... Books are sadly on the wane....Bookstores being closed...The other day, when I was at Walden, Somajiguda, they too were lamenting on the reduced sales of books especially. Lots of others like Akshara, Odyssey & Landmark even closed down. Hence, except the really popular ones, comics are not available everywhere.... Probably the decade of the 90's was the last golden period for books especially comics where we used to wait for the next issues... |

Mainstream comics aren't the same anymore... Even the popular ones are struggling to compete in the young mind against Cartoons/Superhero movies/Shows/Games/Internet etc....There is also piracy to contend with on top of these... They are really having to evolve big time and create a franchise to remain relevant.... The game has moved on....even Marvel and DC betting big on movies than these. They have now become launchpads more than anything. Graphic novels shud be the way forward....Wud hav loved to see Immortals of Meluha in tht format by someone like Vimaanika... |

Redclaw777:Ya....I did a couple of them....Great attempt... But they still unable to sratch even the surface of the comic fanbase worldwide... Their marketing has to be even stronger...
really surprising ..with such a great talent why they couldn't even become popular in India.. may be reading comics in India is not a popular hobby anymore. ACK dominated Indian comic industry for generations and we are lucky to have access to such a great illustrations. |
