WW2 impact on Indian independence is undeniable . But leading a diverse nation, with multilingual and cultural, is literally impossible towards the common goal of independence. To the point many contributed to achieve independence but Gadhiji led whole nation , united the chaos and contributed major among them . But Gandhiji's principle of non violence is beyond beyond comprehensible .One example for this is What you and me are enjoying freedom from racial discrimination in USA is due to MLK civil rights movement , which is followed and inspired by Gandhiji's principles . With out peace there is no progress or welfare at all . At same time the war making desire for countries such as USA,Germany,UK and Japan forced them to invent and industrialize. We missed the leadership post independence and failed to establish person independent mature democracy .
