Social media is abuzz with speculation that Tollywood super star Mahesh Babu will soon be the owner of an IPL team. Apparently, Mahesh is all set to purchase a Vizag based franchise by the name of 'Vizag Sixers'. If that really happens, it will be a huge leap forward for Mahesh in terms of brand value. In fact, all other Tollywood Baahubalis’ will pale into insignificance before him. But buying an IPL team is no joke. At the least, a team with exclusive rights for ten years will easily cost around a thousand crore. And if an auction takes place, it can increase even further. So, does Mahesh have that kind of money with him? Is he that rich a guy? However, some experts opine that Mahesh need not shell out the entire amount himself to become the owner. It is enough if he picks up a certain stake in the team. Thereby he will become the face of the team while there will definitely be other sponsors and investors. But having Mahesh as the primary investor will increase the brand value of the team immensely and bringing in sponsors and endorsements will then be a piece of cake. |
