This cannot be done legally and Harish Rao is not an idiot......govt cannot interfere in "minority" colleges/schools....ido pedda scam......ur college or school is game if it is a non-minority college.......Big schools run by Hindus in cities face such threat routinely(recent example is Vidya bharathi in Chennai)....that is why running education institutions is risky for Hindus unless they have a political backing some states have laws...even if a random guy complains that a private school is not functioning properly, govt can take over...minorities have exemptions...... Harish Rao is carrying forward the proposal of the government taking over Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology. Mr Rao is also the honorary president of the Telangana Affiliated Engineering Colleges Teachers’ Association. Chevella TRS MP K. Vishweshwar Reddy said, “Standards have been falling at the institution in the last few decades. CBIT is nobody’s private property. Let the government take over the institution. It will only do good because the staff also wants the same.” Mr Reddy’s father, Justice K. Madhava Reddy, was the chairman of the first board of governors. He said he was excluded from the board for opposing the sale of seats for donations. TAECTA secretary P. Ramakrishna Reddy said, “None of the members have contributed any money towards the institution. It is all students' money. But seats are being sold and as much as Rs 400 crore has been embezzled over the last decade through donations. Vishweshwar Reddy was thrown out for opposing this.” Another important factor is the control of the institution by “non-locals.” “It has become a centre of non-locals. Y.S. Chowdary is running the whole show now. Even Vishweshwar Reddy was not allowed in,” government sources said. They added that the issue had found favour with the TRS government which was considering a takeover. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is also learnt to have said that it would be officially taken up at an appropriate time after the admissions season was over. CBIT Chairman Prof. V. Malakonda Reddy could not be reached for comment. | ||
