For in India, Bhakti or what may be called the path of devotion or hero-worship, plays a part in its politics unequalled in magnitude by the part it plays in the politics of any other country in the world. Bhakti in religion may be a road to the salvation of the soul. But in politics, Bhakti or hero-worship is a sure road to degradation and to eventual dictatorship.

Also has valuable data points to counter & rip off YSRCP. Only if TTs were good enough for that

Assuming that you read this "Scam Andhra", a fantastic fact based narration on state of affairs during YSR's tenure & how Jagananna exploited his father's power.

Also, he states that Sonia's decision to divide Andhra was strongly motivated by Jagan's stance against high command

Prouddesi:

Parakh doesn't specifically make any judgemental statements on Babu but he mentions so many politicians who threaten, pressurize, transfer, overrule bureaucrats who advise as per rules or in public interest. But in his experience with Babu as CM, the worst experience was when a rival party leader's company got a contract and a TDP Ex-MP who lost the bid seeks cancellation on the grounds that the winner is not capable of execution or some such flimsy grounds. Babu considered his party leader's request but when Parakh advised that it would be inappropriate to cancel on such flimsy grounds since they have some deposit and bank guarantee that protects the government if the winner fails to execute, Babu did none of those usual politicians' style crooked things. He just remained mute with an unhappy expression. No transfer, no bulldozing, nothing.

Do you know how this compares to the growth in TS

I am sorry I am a layman to this subject, Going by the percentage's It looks Andhra is doing better but I am not sure if the growth percentages of the two states can be compared, If Telangana's growth is impresive because a new state has recorded such a remarkable growth than Andhra has fared much better than Telangana, Telangana is technically a new state but the reality is otherwise

Here's another article from different perspective

Thanks for the link. Do you know how this compares to the growth in TS? Upon first glance it looks superior to the growth in TS....
Of course, AP still has some way to go to catch up with TS. One year of outperformance won't really bring it on par.

See the article in Metro India that doesn't even compare TS's growth with other states in India. If many states in India grew by similar numbers due to Crude Oil prices going down, NDA government's policies, their stability infusing confidence in the investors etc. and Telangana was one of those, should a newspaper publish a front page news saying that TS is booming?

If TS outdid most states in India, that's great! A little more elaborate article touching upon the reasons (such as the ET one on TN vs AP) would have been helpful! But then, Metro India is not such a high quality paper...

In my experience, when I hear valuable opinions in a non-political context without motives either against Babu or in favor of him, I hear that he doesn't seek bribes, is efficient, hardworking, keen on delivering to the people. However, when it comes to Telugu media, TV debates etc. which more people watch and get influenced by, there is no such clear opinion.

Who reads (except me) P C Parakh's book in which a page or two casually mention about Babu. Who talks to certain people in higher judiciary and top bureaucratic circles in private gatherings (again except me)...common man watches the biased/motivated telugu media.
