APTRANSCO bags National award for meritorious performance in the category of "Transmission System Availability". In a significant development, APTRANSCO, a prominent State Transmission Utility (STU) in the country, has once again bagged the prestigious National award for meritorious performance conferred by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, in the category of Transmission System Availability. APTRANSCO has achieved a record level of 99.966 per cent of Transmission System availability for the Year 2013-14 and has been conferred Silver Shield in this regard. On behalf of APTRANSCO, Mr K.Vijayanand, Chairman & Managing Director, APTRANSCO received the award from Union Minister of State for Power and NRE (Independent Charge) Piyush Goyal during the function held at New Delhi today, an official statement said here today. While thanking the Ministry of Power for selecting APTRANSCO for the above award, K.Vijayanand opined that continuous increase in Transmission System Availability, is made possible due to the best efforts of the officers and staff of APTRANSCO and congratulated the entire employee community for achieving this prestigious award & requested them to continue the same efforts in future also. With the unstinted support of the Honble CM, the power utilities are putting all out efforts to achieve self sufficiency in the sector which paves the way for rapid economic development in the state. For achieving this goal the Govt. has fixed targets to the utilities to enhance power generation and strengthen the Transmission & Distribution network substantially and take up pro-consumer activities in a big way, the CMD said.UNI VV VV AK1842 |
