New Delhi: Is there a chance of YSRCP and the Congress coming together in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in some form or the other in near future? Indications available here point to the two parties working hand in hand. There are also confabulations or behind the scene activities towards this end, according to sources. Sources in the Congress here have revealed that a "resurgent Rahul Gandhi" is looking at several options to strengthen the Congress across the nation to effectively take on the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. On the one hand, he is not only exploring effective means and issues to give trouble to the Modi government, but looking at all political options to occupy the Opposition space completely. With the newly emerging challenge in the form of Janata Parivar in the cow belt, Rahul Gandhi's core team as well as the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, have become wary of losing any political space to the Parivar and its possible allies. This is precisely the reason why Rahul has become more vocal in taking on the Centre and its policies, shedding his inhibitions in a two month period of âleave of absence,â it is said. All the same, it is said that he is looking for long-term friends in different States, who could be effective in preventing Modi's and thereby the Hindutva forces onslaught and, instead, strengthen the "secular spaces with their inclusive policies". As part of this strategy, the sources admit, that a review of all past and present political equations is underway. Rahul is said to be asking his local leaders to explore all political permutations and combinations in his meetings. Though the party is decimated in Andhra Pradesh and has conceded ground to the TRS in Telangana, Rahul is of the view that time is ripe for revival efforts in these States in the backdrop of the current land issues and related problems, it is said.
