I did not expect the clay court season to be this bad for Nadal. After all aa Murray gadi chethilo losing is too much. But as i have been saying after the age of 28-29, it is very difficult to win slams. Federer won only one after 28-29. Nadal will touch 29 in a few days. All stars are lining up for Djoker. If he takes this, he can rightly get a place alongside the greats. | ||

Most fun movie of Ray. I saw it when i was in my 8th or 9th class. Absolutely loved it. Another fun movie of Ray is Sonar Kella. Another personal fav. Ray of mine is Aranyer Din Rathri. His city movies of the 60s - Mahanagar, Prathidwandi and Seemabaddha also were damn good. Okati enti, until the mid -late 70s, almost everything he touched was fantastic barring a couple like Chidiyakhana and Ashani Sanket. | ||

I first saw it when i was 18 years old. Start cheyi, it is not celebrating poverty as ill read and illiterate fellows might say. In fact, it is deeply humanistic, and shows there can be joys and surprised even in poor families. It is nowhere exploitative. In fact, Ray himself made very few village movies as he was a distinctly urbane person himself. Out of his entire oeuvre, hardly 4-5 might be considered village oriented. He himself said that shooting Pather Panchali was a challenge as he had not seen much of village life himself. | ||

A watershed moment in Indian cinema and the beginning of the Ray legacy...now being restored in 4K...i have seen the movie quite a few times and am mesmerised every time, photography, acting, that great BGM by Pt.
