Hindi movies are churning out movies with these small town flavours and accents, stories, behaviours very very well. Even in movies i did not like like Queen or even the original Tanu Weds Manu, these were the standout. I just finished watching Shuddh Desi Romance, a great setting, milieu, acting talent, vernacular dialogues all make it an enjoyable movie despite getting boring at places. Of course having a lip smooch every 10 minutes is useful. Telugu movies have completely lost it in these scenarios. More often, it is because we take the wrong people on board. We have talented writers but because we depend on these north indian actresses who can't emote in telugu, the entire local touch is lost. Take a movie like Uyyala Jampala, where the heroine was a frigging disaster, the hero was top notch in getting the local flavour. Heroine kampu chesi pettindhi. | ||
