Here is what i do as a POC - create 2-3 tables and enter some metadata entries. - write some code in your choice of language to build a dynamic sql using metadata entries in the tables. all said and done.. guru - this will be a new project in itself apart your regular DW implementation.. is it worth that effort anedi question? | ||

Use any existing model to create data lineage. Customary steps like creating a DL and naming it taruvatha - click on tranformation tab and it will take you to new window where you import your source object.src_col and target obj.target_col and specify the type of transform you need like aggregation/Lookup/Group by etc. Anyways, article sadivaan.. this data lineage doesnt fit your needs anukuntunnan..article pekaram you want a generator that will spit out entire ETL code based on preconfigured metadata entries..if i am understanding you correctly then data lineage in ER studio wont do that. | ||

books ante peddaga chadavanu so assalu idea ledhu..I used ER/Data Studio Architect a while ago for Modelling. It had build data lineage feature where you can specify data movement rules and tranformations. I dont think it will spit out entire code once you have your model though.. but i think data lineage is a feature that is closest to what you are looking for. As far as my exp goes in building rule based engines, they, in any domain, are heavily driven by Business logic and rules.Not sure if you can build such thing based on a DM. | ||

Java code generation (like Java Beans, DAOs, etc) aithay there are ways to do this using eclipse (done it long time ago, have to look it up). ETL generation is totally different, I believe there are tools like AbInitio for these kinds of tasks.. | ||
