U pls check Canada man...there is direct taxation (ofcourse sevaral stupid consumption taxess are there) uniform tax will do nothing for any body...products will be waiting at the borders of states to get approval , additional levies on imports in high manufacturing states ur point of view is very authoritative man...that's not the way how a multi cultured country should work there has to be give and take relation..not forceful acquisition | ||

GST will make things worser Already Maharashtra is levying special taxes for goods produced out of their state. If GST is passed, TN will do the same too. The only way to keep manufacturing in their state. GST will only make things worse for consumers. VAT model was working really well, except that there were too many taxes. something could have been done about it. | ||

Yes. may be, distribution of tax proceeds need to be based on income generation. there is lot of paper work involved for inter state goods transfer., which means more bureaucracy and harassment from officials etc..
