I was told to go for wider planks...hmmm

wider kante depth is most important.....wider planks needs careful installation, most people screw it up with various reasons,

Wider planks sarigaa install cheyaka pote you will have air bubbles, and gaps between the planks

Also Planks contract and expand depending on the season.....expansion during the summer, contraction during the winter

So go with more deep wood

but finising tharwatha chesthe it might take many days for getting to be usable anta kada?

dont go with finishing annai, it will appear smooth anthe....go with natural oak....with good depth

if Budget is the criteria then there are good number of laminates which have better quality than pre finished wood

If budget is ok with you, go with natural oak.....it will fit with any color and any system you have with fire place and back splash finish in kitchen

usual gaa Hard wood should cost you around 5K to 7K for estimated 1200/1300 sqft of living area

Wider is better. I wouldnt go for anything less that 2.5. Spaces depend on installation and if you have the wood aired out before install. If you have looked at any of the mode houses they alsways have wide.

I think diagonal doesnt look good in the long run as tastes change (except for design in borders middle etc)
