Like in any other sector, I dont want any foreign nation, company or individual to profit on business transactions. I feel, ultimately this country needs to be self-reliant and not dependent on foreign nations, even for something as simple as retail. Anduke, I dont buy HUL products, I always buy desi-competitors. And like wise in many other choices of purchase. The motive is, the jobs and profits created out of Indian economic transactions, belong to Indians first, in my opinion. And retail is supporting some 4 crore families with employment, and if you want big capital to capture that 700 billion market, you are disadvantaging local players, who have to borrow at insane costs while these foreign giants come in with huge interest free cash to capture business and profits.
