folks,

i have a decent lawn; there are some bare patches that i want to re-seed and apply a starter fertilizer. at the same time, I also want to avoid any weeds growing in the summer and want to apply a pre-emergent fertilizer. but this is likely to interfere with the new grass seed's growth that I plan to plant. what are the other alternatives.

Both scotts/tru green have ripped me so I dont want to go approach either of them...
