She was favorite in 2008 but there were lots of big name senators and governors in the race...so no prohibitive favorite. Ee saari there is no one like that to challenger her...most of the big names have retired or on the verge of retirement. Young and upcoming candidates will want to run in a more favorable climate. But she recovered extremely well. What got Hillary ditched in 2008 is the way democrats count their Primary delegates and Axelrod. It is not like repubs where win gets all the delegates. SHe won most of the big including Penn and Ohio but Obama shared delegates almost 55% to 45% . In places Obama won it was almost 90 10.. she did not get any delegates. By mid race she ran out of cash as she did not expect the race go that long. But what Axelrod ran was one of the best campaigns of all time. The fight against Hillary made them so strong that McCain was walk in the part. But for Sarah Palin, he would not even been in news. I followed every day of race between Hillary and Obama and it was unbelievable. | ||

QE is only part of it, Govt. bailing out failing banks, auto companies etc, (Republican philosophy would have been to let them fail), increase fiscal spends but keep deficit under control, tax breaks to middle income families, cash for clunkers etc etc. If you remember, the Repubs wanted to impose European style austerity measures which would have been disastrous, but Obama stood his ground to continue to spend. | ||

America should be happy that they got a Democrat govt for the past 8 years. If not for Republican obstruction, they would have done ever better. But taking the economy of the cataclysm in 2008 and bring it to where it is an awesome job in itself (look at where Europe is in comparison). And Obama also moved US away from destructive foreign policies, his idea of non-intervention would appeal a lot to the lay American, what the hell might be happening in Syria or Libya is not their concern, if they want to kill themselves so be it. Moreover he also opened a dialogue with iran and Cuba. I don't know what the agenda of the Republicans is going to be - repeal Obamacare, that is a negative point to start your innings with.
