Complaint from other sons is that, first son let old couple couple stay at his place when they were healthy and helped him. He was forced to divide his assets in to 4 parts. One part each for 3 sons and 1 part for the son who will take care of him/his wife till last. Daughters were given some land/money during marriage time so they didn't want any thing now. So last son agreed to take care of the old couple and he got the extra part written on his name in the will. But few months after the will was written, he and his wife started treating the old couple bad.. and forced them to leave their home on their own Now he says, they left on their own so it is not my mistake. They can come back if they want. Old man doesn't want to go back to him because he says last son hit him few times. Son says he never hit him. To be fair on both sides - old man obviously developed issues due to old age.. like more chaadastam etc. And little bit of ego still there because he lived good life when he was young and in good health. His store was number one in that village. Helped many students like me with small presents like geometry boxes etc. Almost 75L-1C worth assets vundi kuda he is at the mercy of others. And every month he can pay for his/his wife expenses on his own. He is from village so old age home concept won't even make sense to him. Don't say you don't have enough time. He has 3 sons and 2 daughters. And all of them are decently settled in life. He is in late 70s i think. Few years ago he suffered a massive stroke but survived. He lost vision (80%) couple of years ago and multiple surgeries didn't help.. he mentioned some thing about "Glucoma" or some thing like that. His wife helps him in day to day activities even though she is also very old. All 3 sons doing some or other business in same village/near by towns. But they all live in different houses in same village. Both daughters live in near by towns. First son took care of the old man and his wife for last 12-15 years but last year he said he can't do it anymore because his wife has health issues and can't support old couple. 2nd son got stroke 3 years ago and one hand and leg partially paralyzed. So he and his wife said they can't help. 3rd son was taking care of old couple for last 1 year and now he also said he can't do it anymore. Daughters didn't offer any help because they have their own families to take care of. BUT, old man has decent assets... like few acres land etc. They forced him to write will recently and he had no choice but to write it. He gets almost 10-15K per month from the land/crop lease. So he can pay for his expenses. Not sure if i can share more gory details that i learned but it was horrific to even believe the things that his sons did to him in the last couple of years. Some times i do mention "masala" added but this one is as it is.. ____________________________________________________________ _______________ I grew up in a small village in nellore dist and there used to be nice a guy who used to run a small grocery/fancy store in that village. He used to give chocolates for free to anyone who shows him progress card with good grades. So we used to call him "chaaki mama" (Chocolate mama ki short version). They were not expensive chocolates.. if i recall them right.. they were lemon slice shaped sour candies. This was when we were in high school. We all used to like him a lot obviously. We didn't have any colleges in the village so who ever wanted to go for higher studies moved to near by towns. I used to meet him whenever i visited my village even though most of family moved out of there. But slowly lost touch with him over the time And during last week trip i met him and his family and was shell shocked He was almost in tears and asked if i could help in anyway. My eyes got moist seeing the old man in such tragic situation. After hearing the entire story, i felt even bad that there is apparently no solution for his problem. Money is not the issue. Don't say you don't have enough time.
