I personally saw that here in US they take good care of special students. Once I got a call from one school asking me to come and work with a Kid as he was not able to understand and reply to the questions in English. I acted as a translator (kid was telugu and somehow they came to know about me that I teach telugu locally). I had two sessions with that Kid and worked with the teachers. There i was amazed about the care they r taking (being a public school).

School psychologist will come and evaluate your kid. If he/she thinks that OT is needed, they'll add it or you can make your case for it.

Speech kooda same. Our kid was totally non-verbal, so they added it. But don't expect too much time for that. For my kid, week ki one hour ichhaaru both OT and Speech.

What do you want them to feed? meeru pampinche lunch/snacks pedathaaru vallu. Clearly mention all allergies.

Public schools are Good, if you want extra therapy you can get it outside (not recommended as the kid would be too tired)

They will be tired, but depending on the kid's situation, it's better to have outside therapy.

Few more:
1) School bus gurinchi adagandi
2) How frequently will they review the kid's progress and can they change IEP plan based on the kid's progress.

I think you can visit the school beforehand and check how the current program and classroom looks like.

Potty training istaru, make sure you put it in the IEP plan.

Once your kid starts schooling, they'll allow you to watch what's being taught with prior permission.

Already Donvusko and Spring cheppaaru, but few questions you might want to ask:

Before the meeting, ask for all therapists to be at the meeting like speech, OT,BCBA. Remember, you can take your current NJ Early Intervention service coordinator to the meeting.

1) Is the classroom dedicated to special needs kids or mixed?
2) Keep your diagnosis handy. Tell them your kid needs 1:1 and will benefit from that.
3) Is the teacher trained to give ABA therapy? Ask the BCBA/OT any specific questions you would have.
4) Are the therapy sessions going to be individual or group. Push for individual therapy.
5) Do they have extended school year in summer?

Spring:

1. asalu special education ante ela vuntundi? what do they teach ? /
--basic skils to improve cognition behavour (sorting, common objects identify cheyyatamu, social interaction lo train cheyyatam etc)
2.ee basis meeda teachers ni allot chestaaru ?
--Evaluation report basis mida teachers ni allot chestaru (teacher student ratio 1:5 to 1:15 depending upon special need)
3. okavela manaki kaavalci vachinattu teachers ni allot cheyyakapote (interview time lo) i.e hours, manam ela fight cheyyaali ??
--Parents ni opinion adugutaru , but school district decision is final)
4. feeding issues/ potty trAining ji help chestaara ??
---feeding issues ki help undadu usually but potty training chestatu
5. public school / private school..which ine is better
---Public schools students needs ni accommodate cheyyalekapote private school ki refer chestaru

1:5 is way too high for autistic kids.
During the IEP meeting, DO NOT sign anything immediately. Even after they send you the IEP plan, DO NOT sign right away. Talk to SPAN NJ team and let them know of your questions/concerns on the IEP plan.
Once you sign the IEP, it's tough to get it changed. You can request them and they might accomodate, but if you feel that the school is not giving proper therapy, then you'll need to get a advocate to push the school to give you what you want.

Based on the kid / Parents feedback on the kid / Some tests , school comes up with a IEP (Individualized Education plan) on what they want to teach and what the targets would be. They would provide you documentation on the evaluation they had done on the kid and what their plan is.

Student / Teacher ratio is very good , they would get individual attention.
They try to teach letters / numbers etc. Based on the kid, they would give OT/PT/ST too.

Generally they come up with a good plan, There would be a case manager assigned to the kid and you can always request for more hours etc. and generally they accomodate the request

Generally teachers allocated are good a dealing with the kids.It is NOT just the class teachers that is involved, there would be multiple para professionals per class to take care of day to day activities

Pre K lo ayite, teachers help kids eating their lunch , Poo Poo etc.

Public schools are Good, if you want extra therapy you can get it outside (not recommended as the kid would be too tired)
