Postponement won't be that useful for Ramalinga Raju...the restrictive bail conditions are still in force. And he and his whole gang had to go to court again today just to return with the new date. We must understand that the judge had to look at 3000 documents and record the statements of more than 200 witnesses! It's not easy to write such a judgement. The judgement itself would surely run into a few hundred pages. But I agree that it has been postponed too many times for too long! It would've been nice if the judge had renotified the new date in advance without making all the accused/advocates/media personnel go there and anxiously wait! | ||

The judgement is expected in the next few hours. My expectation is that the main accused, Ramalinga Raju will be sentenced to five or six years and then the time he already spent in imprisonment would be deducted from the sentence. On health grounds and considering that he is a senior citizen and if the remaining sentence is less than three years, he may get bail pending appeal from the High Court. However, many of the other accused including his brother Rama Raju may not get bail. Also, even if Ramalinga Raju does get bail, he would ultimately lose the appeal and go back to jail. |
