The relation already existed, vivekananda was not ready but the guru knows. RKP was so anxious of his disciple that he too became restless, he knows the capabilities of Vivekananda. Vivekananda as any other disciple had many questions which was natural. He didnt even know what to meditate and what do during that. He once comes and complains that he is not able to focus. THen RK says realizing that you are not able to focus is itself the first step of understanding how difficult it is to control mind when it wanders thousands/millions of thought. They he explains the if one can catch the moment between thoughts and hold on to it, then he achieves what he want. okay .. may be "tested" isnt a word that may fit appropriately here. But what I mean to say is, the relationship didnt take off right at the moment. They certainly were happy meeting each other, but Vivekananda had many questions for RK, almost all the times he met. Sometimes, Vivekananda would not meet his guru for months and RK would miss his sishya so much that, he would cry!! Things that I have read! Correct me if I am wrong .. This is not very true I believe. RK was never tested, How can a disciple test a guru, it will never happen, First time they met they knew they were one for another. Both got a feeling that they were waiting for each other and anxious when the other will come. A guru will test before accepting a disciple, but shishya can never test a guru. Krishna is Urthvareta yogi as is Lord Shiva.. Which means, they stop the creation of the fluid itself. By reversing the downward flow they send it back thru yoga and thus eventually stop producing it. They become equivalent to Devatas holding human body. In Krishna avatara Lord Krishna being a great Yogi, the yogi guri, he becomes urthvareta yogi. Each one has their own ways of managing celibacy, some send this thru different ways some thru yoga practice will never have desire so that there is no generation discharge at all. Interestingly .. the first meeting of Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, living a few kilometers away, happened through a white man!! Swamiji, then Narendra still, was in college (Presidency College, Kolkata) and was in a class of English Literature (I guess) and the lecturer was explaining about the poem of the great William Wordsworth - "The Excursion" .. and in the lecture, made a passing reference to the great sage Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, who lives near by in the Dakshineshwar temple as a priest! Nobody in the class picked up that point, only Vivekananda did and visited Ramakrishna Paramahamsa (RP), whose name was Gadadhar previously  , sishya Vivekananda tested RP a lot for a lot of years and then accepted him as his guru! celibacy is very important because it resembles the chain of birth and death and maintaining celibacy means breaking that chain. Thats why every one is behind maintaining it. Hanuman is indeed a brahmachari, there is no denial of that. He marries suvarchala just so that he can perform yagnas and vratams that has to be done as couple. Both of the are "Kama" rahita couple. You couldnt be more wrong. Yoga doesnt teach you to disperse your kundalini. The whole purpose of sansyasin is to store his sexual energy from leaving his body. You dont disperse it, you STORE it. Thats the basis of raja yoga. Thats how you get the powers. Paramahamsa himself said that a true yogi would not relieve his sexual energy even in his dreams, if you know what I mean. Vivekananda was a gnana yogi and a raja yogi. | ||

spot on, the main problem is over the years these so called swamiji's have created an image for themselves that they are demi gods and can resolve their problems, So the persons started trying to please them and there by get benefit. However these swamiji;s never teach the real things one has to do. People will be in a fear created by these swamijis and got used to not do anything on their own. Hindu spiritual path is experience based. Others cannot experience for ourself. So one has to go in their own path to find the goal. These swmaiji;s never try to teach this, Thats why Vyakti pooja has become predominant in India. If there is process for attaining realization or mukti, it would have been done by now, but it cannot be streamlined as each person has to find their path based on their qualities of Tamas, Rajas and so on.. Also there is no proof or validity if someone says they know GOD or experienced GOD, so these swamiji's cash on it and thus the real essence never get carried. If Hindu Sanatana Dharma has to prevail, these swamiji;s should be eradicated. Automatically the demi-god status will go away. There are many temples of Adi Shankaracharya, but how many practise Bhajagovindam? 90% of persons I asked know it as a song, but never knew that if understood properly the whole life perspective changes? Its possible. In raja yoga there is a thing called 'Vayu sthambana' where you can stop your own breathing. For normal people its impossible to stop your own breathing because involuntary powers of your body contracts your chest muscle to breathe. However, a true yogi can control his involuntary nervous system. BTW, when they performed autopsy on vivekanada's body, they found liters of semen in the abdomen. Its just because he was a true brahmacharin and sanyasin. | ||

Paramahamsa Yogananda .. naa opinion lo .. almost "realized" state lo puttaru (taking away nothing from the great man) .. where as Vivekananda was only a "blessed genius" .. not exactly realized man .. till he met Ramakrishna Paramahamsa .. and what a journey through life .. and he wasnt extremely religious .. but very very ambitious, very modern .. very pragmatic .. and while doing this .. he realized his personal ambition of "Mukti" is pointless .. if the humanity is still suffering in the sidelines .. hence gave up the exquisite quest for Mukti .. and started disseminating Vedanta not just for Indians but the entire human race .. with such vigor that none except Adi Shankara had done it before .. and what a success he has been .. phenomenal anthe .. Biography lo raasina daani prakaram he does .. 5 years and 3 years before he passed away .. he says to his friends that he wont be 40 year old in life!! Alage .. last day activities kuda chaala unusual ga/amazing ga unnayi .. like .. from 8 - 11 am .. he performed meditation .. that too with doors closed .. had lunch with all the Ramakrishna Math disciples (he doesnt do that everyday) .. then taught Sanskrit grammar to inmates of the Math for 3 hours .. and then .. in the night after 9 .. he passed away ..
