I don't think you went through or understood the points there, the final devolution over the past few years has been close to 62% anyway (even went upto 71% once) and the planned increase is <1% over the next few years and not 10%. That is the misconception being perpetuated through the media. | ||

The 42% includes both plan and non-plan expenditure while the 32% included only non-plan expenditure - The 42% again is supposed to subsume a lot of centrally schemes that were earlier supported by the centre but now have to be funded by the states from their pool. - The actual devolution to states including grants and other transfers was anyhow over 61-63% regularly for the past few years and the 42 or 32% was only a bare minimum. So in summary, this seems to be one elaborate hoax played by the BJP government which not many in the media are questioning. Unfortunately even the Congress can't spell its position as its leaders are AWOL..adhi mana daridram.. |
