If I am correct, No need to go US consulate now.They don't care and this is not their matter. Once you get new passport then you inform as per process to immigration. | ||

Passports pothe aa noppi ento monne chuanu.... 1. Most important thing is ...don't panic and file a police complaint. 2. I94 online lo untundi, so safe..no issues. 3. I797 elagu employer/attorney deggara soft copies untaayi anukuntunnanu. 4. Bag lo valuables unte note cheyyi report lo, Insurance claim chesinappudu use avthundi. Sometimes Credit Cards tho pay cheinavatiki cover avthundi automatically. 5. Apply for new passport with Indian embassy and notify the USCIS through your employer. 6. Employer will be very helpful in these matters. So valla opinion/support teesukunte manchidi. Finally, best of luck.... | ||

File Police complaint and that is needed for next step..Do not go by OLD rumours that they will arrest you(it's all trash) Then you need to apply for new Indian passport(there are two options and don't go with temporary passport unless you want to travel ASAP). They ask police complaint for sure and rest will help(like drivers and address proof e.t.cc) Surprisingly you will find all is fine with US stuff(like 797 e.t.c) side but Indian consulate is the worst part. But there is nothing to be panicked and seen this first hand with few... | ||
