Chudanadi With the latest changes - Every state is getting 42% as share from central taxes as part of existing formula followed by center - Which ever state has sever deficite, even after that, center revenue had to be provided to cover the deficite. 22K is given like that for 5 years which is 4.5k cr per year J&k ki 55 k, himachal ki 40 K. Narendra Modi during the announcement of his acceptance of the recommendation by 14th Finance Commission, said that, âStates have always been voicing their opposition to this philosophy for years.â The Government on Tuesday said the share of States in the Centreâs net tax receipts would go up by Rs. 1,78,000 crore in 2015-2016. This will be 45 per cent more than the current financial year. Vice Chairman of NITI Ayog, Arvind Panagriya, in his column for TOI, has outlined the key feature of this recommendation by saying that, âIt is likely that the states will now have to take greater responsibility in areas that have been hitherto covered by the Centre, especially those falling on the state list. States will also have to do this in ways that are more consistent with their priorities and not according to one size fits all schemes.â Addressing a press conference earlier this week, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that, âThis is the largest ever change in percentage of devolution. In the past, when finance commissions have recommended an increase, it has been in the range of 1-2%.â The move has already drawn a lot of attention and appreciation from leaders of different parties. The biggest example of this is the NDA govtâs decision to accept the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission,â Amit Shah said in a statement. He also cited the example of setting up of Niti Aayog where the states and the Centre would work together for policy making and countryâs progress.
