I was very nervous after the australian series if we are going to win games against any big team with the current batting form,unsettled openers and inexperienced bowling attack.. It was very good to see Dhawan find his form and i was impressed by his positive approach especially hooking the ball early in the innings..The game plan seems to be to rotate the strike early in the innings and play safe so that score can be accelerated later in the game.. Dhoni made a masterstroke by getting Raina early to counter the leg spinners and that paid off in a big way.. Kohli also got the runs after a string of low scores in the one day series and it was good to see him anchor the innings. The bowling attack looked good and we need to change the strategy when playing against the big teams by starting the spinners so as to surprise the openers who may be able to play the pace but may be susceptible to spin(like england,sa,nz and aus).. We should consider Akshar in few games to see if that works. |
