Mental_sachinodu:

Meeru kuda chusesara :-) Just kidding ..There was a sequence in the movie with his group all discussing 'truth' and going off on tangents that made me burst out laughing - cos it was so close to debates in the DB - they nailed it :-)

Rajat Kapoor is a very good director, comes from the theatre. You should see a movie that he directed called Mithya with Ranvir Sheorey and Neha Dhupia. Fantastic movie.

this director is the guy in dil chahtha hai lo Preity Zinta uncle role esadu

Yeah - he's been a familiar face for a long time from the parallel cinema days and the influence shows in his films...almost makes me think of RK Laxman and his focus on the common man..:-)

Raghu Romeo was a very good movie too- Vijay Raaz was fantastic in that one..so Rajat definitely knows how to cast..He has a few national awards under his belt - hope to see more such offbeat movies from him :-)

Am I scaring people away ? But you are right the movie was hilarious and serious at the same time :-)

You can laugh at the protagonist or introspect with him and at times laugh at yourself too ...Such a layered confection :-)

Was watching the filmfare awards last night and saw Rajat Sharma's Ankho Dekhi receive the awards for best story, best film (critics) and best actor critics for Sanjay Mishra and I had not even heard of the movie - Just shows how disconnected I have been :-)

Anyways googled it - premise looked interesting and the movie online link came up on www.viki.com so started watching...and was hooked:-)

Rajat Sharma - took me back to the golden age of parallel cinema..

A brilliant exloration into a man's quest for 'true experience' fantastic vignettes and dialogues, and great lyrics rendered in Kailash Kher's haunting voice ...Sanjay Mishra was excellent as the protagonist...

Warning : NOT for the mass masala audience - no glitz or glamor in this moveie.

A must watch for anyone who has pondered on the existential quandary :-)Some very thought provoking sequences some of which reminded me of the DB discussion :-)Do watch it if you like serious cinema and have not seen it.. Does require a good grasp of hindi though..
