Getting a strong body is no easy feat. There lies an ocean of hard work and discipline. TOI.com spoke exclusively with Kumar Mannava who helps the Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu score a fit physique.

For the uninitiated, Mannava is Physique Elite's first master trainer in India. He started working with Mahesh Babu alongside celebrity trainer Kris Gethin. Gethin is responsible for sculpting the bodies of Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham among others in Bollywood.

Talking about Mahesh Babu's roaring motivation levels, Mannava tells us, "Most actors work out rigorously only for an upcoming movie role. But that's not the case with him. He appreciates his body 365 days a year and never misses out on his workouts. His main focus is to stay lean and build good muscles. We work out 5 days a week and focus on strength and flexibility."

FITNESS

Mahesh Babu's workout broadly includes one body part a day followed by stretching. "Stretching is an aspect that most fitness trainers overlook or underestimate. But we focus a lot on stretching, also because he is a movie star and has to do a lot of stunts in the movies," shares Mannava.

We don't just focus on building six pack abs. His workout routine is more about all-round fitness. The duration mostly goes up to an hour and a half.

When asked about the trouble zone of the star, Mannava adds, "Mahesh is a tall guy, which means he has tall limbs. So the most challenging part is to get muscles on his arms and legs."

DIET

Mahesh Babu takes a balanced diet, which is a right mix of protein, carbohydrates and fat. He has five to six meals every day, two of which are supplement shakes. "He never follows any fad diets," Mannava adds.

Here is the broad meal plan:

Breakfast: Mush. It is a dish made of oats, eggs, fruits and nuts. This is his first meal.
Post workout: Any shake
Lunch: Any meat source (Chicken/ Fish/ Lamb) with Carbs (Brown rice/ Quinoa/ Khus khus)
Dinner: Any carb source and protein. It could be brown or whole wheat bread with eggs or chicken
