DRDO failed in kaveri engine. they scrapped that project and started developing a new engine. hope it completes by 2018. Defence lo manam konchem lagging but not behind we are doing very well compared to most of the developing nations. in fact in combat aerospace we are competing with china. In aerospace We have been using Russian tech in pslv for higher payloads.. With this experience we managed to build and test gslv with decent budget.. Something new like stealth for India will have to cross so many hurdles, technically, commercially and politically.. It's not a joke.. For that 40-60% imported tech mana vallu hard negotiated with countries for tech transfer Many countries have shelfed projects after spending huge budgets in new defence projects.. Any major aviation project life cycle is min. 25years from concept to build and involves huge govt. support even for a defence contractor 1st project lone complete made in India expect cheyatam kastam.. 17k crs budget and more than decade is very reasonable I can say for a beginning, considering it is defence F35 budget went haywire and overrun in multiples to present cost of [25lac crores].. Lockheed will not break even unless they sell each piece for $250mn.. International Customers may show middle finger unless it comes with discounts.. | ||
