With British, they were more interested in serving the crown and stealing stuff from India and exporting to Britain. To that effect, they accomplished what they wanted without resistance in India. It is India's smaller states, religious tolerance combination that allowed them to flourish. If BJP does a few things, they can manage 1) Stop appeasement and equal opportunity to all 2) Uniform civil code (probably wont happen in this term) 3) No conversions and faith is personal and everyone abides by constitution BJP can accomplish what they want if they focus on development first and firm with any anti-national elements as well as stop conversions (which I consider is anti-national in the long run). | ||

What has allowed Muslims to be so called moderate is because 1) Hinduism is more tolerant and assimilated 2) Even under twisted Secularism of congress, they have been appeased and hence stopped from warring. But with BJP taking a stand, parties like MIM and lot of organization now rally against BJP and become more aggressive. And unlike 50 years ago, radicalims has become a global phenomenon. Even those in mainstream like film stars dont sound so moderate these days. What I understand is many muslims merged into local cultures/societies but radical elements find it easy to stoke passions in them under victimhood. It is not just political correctness, it is under political correctness they shut up the opposing elements and use victimhood to claim more and more support for them. | ||

I totally agree with Thokka's views. Muslims assimilated into the societies very well in the past. Just take the examples of Muslims invaders that started their empires in India, they all assimilated into Indian culture very well and compares that with British christians who ruled India for such a long time and still didn't embrace Indian culture. Agreed that there are EXTREME elements in Muslim world who are hell bent on destructing other cultures. Bult NOT ALL MUSLIMS are bad. 90% of them are good human beings. | ||

very broad statement, i dont agree.... we see Abdul kalam, we see Aziz Premji.. we see crickters, filmstars... hoteliers.. transport kings.. and many more "normal" people in mainstream in our lifes than we account for.

its just a blip in evolution of democracy.. and there is nothing wrong in political correctness. If you want to be a higher human being, then you need to act like one and also its implied that currently you are not. Just because some group of people are not acting upto standards of humanity doesnt mean that we should let go out dignity, and honor and get to their standards to fight them.
