The overseas rights of the movie ‘Gopala Gopala’ for the Gulf region was sold for Rs 10 lakh. However, the agreement was made subject to the condition that the entire Rs 10 lakh would be refunded to the buyers if the movie failed to get censor clearance from the ‘Gulf authorities’. Every Indian movie in the 'Gulf' region has to get another censor clearance there. If there is any content in the movie eulogizing Hindu gods, then the authorities there suggest cuts to those portions. Similarly, for ‘Gopala Gopala’, after watching the movie, the authorities suggested cutting out many parts including a major portion of Pawan Kalyan’s role as Pawan plays a god in the film. While the buyers agreed to some cuts, deleting the portions of Pawan Kalyan would have meant that there was nothing in the film ultimately. They did not agree to this proposal and hence could not get the censor clearance. Now as per their original agreement with the makers of ‘Gopala Gopala’, they ought to be refunded their Rs 10 lakh. However, all calls to the makers are going unheeded and the attitude of the makers reportedly makes it clear that they are in no mood to honor their agreement. So much for ‘legendary producers’ and their ‘legendary families’! - See more at: http://www.greatandhra.com/movies/movie-news/gopala-gopala-r ejected-in-gulf-63059.html#sthash.Wp1ykvZl.dpuf |
