Agree on definitions being personal i maybe rambling ... I see the quest being 3 types most of the time ( exceptions always exist) - an escape/vent/detachment from current issues in life - a search for something more AFTER satiating needs, running out of purpose or losing interest in the current goals/needs - a timepass, part time, academic quest like mine which takes a backseat when other priorities surface - then there's folks who don't have a quest are content where they are To me 2-3 are both first world, as in privileged scenarios - even sanyas is a first world scenario with the difference that most lower level needs have been negated insteac of being satiated Poverty is the difference between what you need and what you have....and absence of poverty is privilege... penning those thoughts as books and fighting for publication rights is getting attached IMO. He metamorphosed into Robin Sharma of those times. For me its down to earth for you that is abrasive but the fact is that he goes more deep and unlike jiddu who is all about how to deal with first world issues which come from having a privileged life. not by everyone.... Esp sri vaishnavas don't accept Buddha as avatars, for them it's Rama, balarama and Krishna..... Smarthas don't consider balarama as avathaara (just adisesha amsa) for them, it's Rama, Krishna, Buddha.... For other vaishnavas like iskcon, they don't say Krishna as avatara, FIR them Krishna is the avatari who takes all other avataras, so for them avataras are Rama, balarama, Buddha...
