vook, coming back to Dhoni. It was a great sight to see an indian wicket keeper who could thrash the likes of shoaib akthar in their own back yard. the test series in Pak, although there were some blinders in India before that series from this man, that made me feel like he was going to be a someone with a great legacy. After Dravid decided against being a captain, and the surprising proposal of Dhoni as the captain, the nature of indian team has changed quite a bit. The steady head of Dhoni, has lead Indian team through some amazing series. As a batsmen, he was as calculative as one can get in chasing a down a total, but the style of his captaincy always sprang surprises. He never had to worry about the batting potential of his team, but was always in the asking for a true bowling unit. His philosophy of not conceding runs, to the extent that he would never curse a fielder for a dropped catch, but would give a earful when concedes an extra run, shows a glimpse of he managed to win so many tight matches, even when the best of opposition batsmen are at play. I feel anyone who needs to win any situation, needs to study Dhoni's captaincy to understand how to grab smaller opportunities to make big impacts. Personally, I feel that IPL has become a distraction to him otherwise, he would have had a much better record in International test cricket. The sheer amount of toll his body has been taking, and the ability to switch between different formats was clearly showing. We could have hoped for a better departure from him, but the way he was playing, he did the right thing to move on. When he wasnt enjoying the game or the role, no point in sticking around. Numbers do not do justice, win and losses do not do justice to many athletes. Even when the the numbers speak of great achievements, they often fall short of revealing the sheer genius that it takes to excel at such levels of sport. There are many reasons why indian team has been doing well at the game than the past, and he is one of the major reasons. | ||

World cup taruvatha ODI kooda retire antademo....it will be always good same person lead both ODi and Test...it will be balance to the team ... May be after WC , give ODI captain also to kohli , let dhoni play in ODIs.. | ||
