25 K is nothing, TCS has 3 lakhs +employees, even taking out the 10% lowest ranking employees (which Jack Welch popularised) will mean around 30k being laid off. Not a big deal. Anduke one has to continuously keep learning new skill sets and build one's profile. In fact, 40 is the new 60 anuko. It will be increasingly difficult to continue in a mainstream job after 40, unless exceptionally talented. In fact, even to oneself, it is difficult to justify one's role after 40. | ||

true... but, another point, its not just about unworthy candidates. in IT industry, we cant do value addition linearly/exponentially, unless companies invest and work in high value services in supply chain. if its just about doing support/patch fixes etc, any 2-3yrs exp guy could do. and thats where the companies are at the moment... 2013 zero hikes across organization , only some folks in Bangalore got small market correction according to managers wish 2014 1-2% hikes for 1 and 2+ raters , and in the year when the resources started quitting the company and iteration increased , over the end of the year in month of December they are giving some hike in few sectors that too its not of market standards they gave according to experience with IBM if a resource serving with IBM more than 8 years they are getting 9% hike if a resource serving with IBM for 3 years above they got 2-3% hike even with Band progression not fetching much , before 2011 with band progression resource salary used to increase by 1 to 1.5 lakh now a days with band progression in IBM resource salary increase only by 20000 to 60000 | ||

its better kadha what TCS doing IBM is going reverse way , they are not giving increments and not doing market correction from past 3 years and does not even maintaining any increment cycle kind thing but they want resource to serve for 3 months notice period this is making middle level employees frustrate and force to quit | ||
