Approximately 79% of Indians on F and M student visas pursue degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and 37% of Chinese students pursue STEM degrees in the United States. The Senate bill would exempt STEM PhD and Masterâs graduates from the annual cap of 140,000 visas.
