yes bro. ideas are very rare but once someone posts an idea there will be lot of seniors to scuttlebutt. you can see all possible negatives. only when we are convinced that opportunity far outweigh negatives we can jump in. Protecting capital should be first priority for creating long term wealth as per buffet. If we do 40% cagr for 3 years and then do just one year of -40% that is enough to bring the 4 year CAGR < 20 |

Who the heck with draw there 11 years PF in India and put into stock market..taken personal loan of 12 lakhs for 2 years and put that in stock market .. Though I know lot of stocks but prefer 3 - 5 stock portfolio just to accomdate my time

I made decent money in stock options (in india). this is mostly due to the timing than my skill! 2014 lo oka unique oppurtunity. stock market damn sure ga peruguthundi ani dec 2013 nunchi gut feeling..BJP vastundi ane speculation meeda play chesanu...anduke options baaga work out ayyindi!
I stopped options post elections...! if I see similar oppurtunity again in future (either market goes up/down), I might play options in India.. |

My case may be applicable for some of u. you might be in the similar boat as I was couple of years back.
I started trading @ 26 years. but when I started my career in IT, I had some financial responsibilities. I had to clear family loans. But, until I clear them I cannot go for long term investment. (because, I cant lock the money for future). so for that reason, I decided to be a day trader so I can earn some money. I really made some very good calls initially (beginners luck). mostly I used to bet on IPO stocks on day1/day2 on their market launch day in 2007.
biggest earnings ante: MIC electronics, ICRA ( I earned 25-35kk in single day on 2L investment for each trade)
even for short term I used to play buy IPO stocks. but over the time, manam pette effort ki / vache money ki interest/passion same range lo vundedhi kaadu..taggipotha vundedi...final ga balance sheet choosukunte, I paid over 70,000 as brokerage fees to Icicidirect and I made some 50k.ee lopu US visa vachindi..all set to fly..and It was not worth my time ani decided.
tarvatha oka 2 years cinema kastalu....aa tarvatha malli recovery/marriage/
malli last year stock market lo ki enter avudam ani decide ayyanu...india / US at a time start chesanu...US lo options/ india lo stocks ...
appudu sarigga feelgud annai baga encourage chesadu..same college avvatam valla DB lo ayana US lo vunnappati nucnhi baaga telusu.... sarigga ade time lo nannu baaga brainwash chesadu...becoz, I used to have trader mentality (from past experiences), but still appatiki naa mind atu kontha/itu kontha annattu vundedhi....
next, US lo options anni masi...burnt hands, same time lo india market lo collapse...20% correction in my portfolio...
but alane continue ayyan! feelgud and rao iddaru baaga inspire and guide chesaru....rao gaarilo konni qualities naaku nachayi! feelgud conservative lekka anipisthe, rao gaaru moderate conservative lekka anipinchadu....iddari investing philosophies lo koddiga differece vundi..
26Y appudu start chesina kooda, I was on my own...I used to read articles, market news, and do day trading...but if I had someone who brainwashed me like feelgud that time, I cud have made crores of money by now in stock market...
better late than never... ani sardi cheppukuntunna..!!

is he living in a hut now? he is living in a decent 2/3 bed apt and paying probably around 15k rent.he can live in a single bedroom as well and pay only 5k rent and invest the other 10k in stocks.so there is no end i am not contradicting his will power or conviction..i am dead against extravagant spending. i drive a 13 yr old car which i dont have to..still i do because i have similar thought process,so i know what feelgud's thought process is. a decent mid range home and a mid range car will no way falter his discipline or willpower of investing stock...i think enough talked abt this..i respect his decission and rest my case.feelgud, sorry if i went overboard in my suggestion

Mav, feelgud seems to have set himself a goal and every decision of his is taken in regards to getting there faster. His decisions need to be seen in that sense. He wants to attain financial freedom faster. He is sacrificing these comforts now to get there faster. you should admire his disciple and will power which is difficult to sustain.

house can be bought as a necessity. if you buy as an investment then the returns will be less than equities.
I am not suggesting buying house only for investment. its a decent form of investment in india with decent returns. two birds at one shot..
rakesh ki cheppe anta ledu kaani..2005 lo 25 cr petti mumbai lo illu ante extravagant spending..i am not suggesting a 25 cr house or 2-3 cr villa..u can always buy a decent apt in hyd/blore in 65-70 lacs which u can call ur own..and a 5-7 lac car for sake of comfort. for me a car is point a to point b..that is what i follow. both these at the most cost 75 lacs..which is not a killer of ur stock market dream/strategy/investment.

personally I lean on buying a house to keep myself happy. I literally hate shifting house. But if you are willing to delay getting instant gratification the results will be even better. It is a personal choice on whether you want to enjoy now or delay it and enjoy even more at a later stage. |

Rao the problem is not buying a house..how he bought a house. what if he took loan in 2005, held his CRISIL stock and repaid the loan with his earnings? he would had a house as well as his 650 crores.

How Rakesh lost Rs.650 crores?
I was reading Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s interview in the latest issue of Forbes magazine.
Rakesh, aged 54, is worth $1.86 billion (Rs.10,800 crores assuming 1 USD= Rs.60).
This entire Rs.10,800 crores has been built during last 3 decades through investing in Indian equity market.
Though he also trades, most part of his wealth has come from investing in high quality companies for long term.
He is one of the largest shareholders in CRISIL.
In 2005, he sold CRISIL shares worth Rs.27 crores to buy a house in Mumbai.
That house is now worth Rs.50 crores.
The annualized return from his house stands at 7% during last 9 years.
The CRISIL shares he sold for Rs.27 crores is now worth around Rs.700 crores. This works out to a whopping annualized return of 44%
The opportunity loss is Rs.650 crores.
We don’t have wealth the size of Rakesh.
But we miss wealth making opportunity like above by buying a home in the initial part of our career there by losing opportunity to create wealth through equity.
All we should do is to invest in equity in early part of the career and buy the house in the later part.
Since we tie up huge net worth including decades of future income also into the house, we never get opportunity to create big wealth which equity is capable of providing us.
It would be wiser to create wealth during the first 20 years of career through equity and then go for owning a house. |

1. savings account -> for holding your cash
2. demat account -> for holding your shares in dematerialized form
3. trading account -> for taking buy/sell orders. takes/deposits cash from your savings account and takes/deposits shares into your demat account.

last 1 year, india stock market exceptionally performed due to elections and modi govt...last 1 year nunchi ee DB lo seppandhi adhe...
it may not perform in the same levels going forward...if u r expecting ur stocks to grow 100% every year like this year, it may not be possible..target 30% CAGR and u will do really well.
feel/rao/etc evvaru suggest chesina, that is based on their expertise. dont blindly invest..do ur research and based on ur risk appetite, you shud invest in the market. |
