think of tuner and dvr as separate. this is tuner only (multiple tuners in fact). smart tv, gaming consoles lo just live tv choodocchu. media center run ayye computer ayite, full dvr functionality including pause/rewind, recording, scheduling cheyocchu. | ||

Not really. Cablevision tho regular TV package undhi... I guess $50/mo. 2nd, 3rd, 4th TVs lo choodali ante, I should pay monthly rental for set top box ($7) and DVR fee ($10) if I need, for each. Instead, ee HD Homerun ki cable connection icchi, cable card pedatham. Output goes (as ethernet) to your home network. Intlo unna anni computers (with windows media center), Xbox, Playstation, Smart TV (samsung in my case), identify the tuners and show live TV. Multiple TVs unte advantage annattu. | ||

yup. That is the NUC. Very small footprint computer. Decent processor (i3/i5), mSATA card for storage, wifi/bluetooth included. TV (in fact, Receiver) ki HDMI port lo connect chesta. Control with wireless keyboard with trackpad. Takes consumes 6 watts at idle and 25 watts at full use. You can run it 24x7. ye gootle site lo movies choodali anna, ye format lo unna... no problem. Ee streaming thala noppi undadu. Basement lo HDHomeRun Prime with 3 tuners undhi. All I pay is, $2/mo for CableCard from Cablevision. NUC lo Media Center tho live TV chooducchu, including DVR functionality. Okka set-top box unchukoni, anni return icchesa. | ||
