"The magnitude of the problem can be judged from the counter affidavit filed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes or CBDT before the court. As many as 4.62 million entries of demand up to 1 April 2010 aggregating to Rs.2.33 trillion were uploaded by AOs on the CPC portal. The AOs were supposed to have carried out physical verification and correction of such demands, which was obviously not done. On estimates, one understands that almost 75-80% of such tax demands (about 3.5 million demands) were incorrect. One fine day you get a letter that a refund was adjusted against an outstanding demand. The demand was never sent. It was just uploaded onto the tax site by CPC. I got this when i was leaving Bangalore last year. Now to handle this from Delhi is painful as the Assessing Officer is based in Gurgaon. The issue is that it does not affect me much, except when i have to get a refund. | ||

NOPE. issue em kaadu. send it again in speed post. dont send it in ordinary post or registered post or courier. You may not see the delivery status of the speed post, as it is sent to a post bag Wait for 1 month after sending and you should get an automated email that your ITR is under process. This implies that they have received the mail (the email may not explicitly say that they received the mail) | ||
