MOU For Energy: Government of Andhra Pradesh urgently needs to increase its power generation capacity to cope with increasing power demand, and has decided to develop the project of â4 X 1000MW Srikakulam Coal Fired Power Stationâ. The MoU states that: âFor this, GoAP intends to construct the Project with the most advanced ultra super-critical technology for optimum utilization of resources and to have environmental friendly atmosphere. GoAP also intends to receive funding support from government agencies of Japan to apply the above-mentioned technology. GoAP intends and desires to collaborate with Sumitomo for development of the Project.â Highlights: According to the officials, the company would set up the ultra super critical thermal power project designed to run on the imported coal sourced from Australia, in the northern most coastal district of Srikakulam. The company would also bring the necessary funding on its own. The exact equity holding in the project by each of the two partners, Sumitomo and AP Genco, is yet to be worked out, they said.
