when the liberalization started in India in 1991, many states adopted a pro growth model but AP was in the fore front. remember the days back in 1995-96 when an engineer graduating from any college had to go to one of the four metros or bangalore for a job. Government and education sector were the only sources of jobs. Then came a growth cycle where in 5 years, everything came to our state, we can fly from the US into our state. we can work and get a very high paying job in our state, we can compete with the world from our state. many claim it is media creation but there is a fact to that. Today people of the residual state of AP, feel that they have moved back 20 years. a great river front capital or a new city on the lines of modern world cities is very much needed to restore confidence in the people. There needs to be an economic driver to get back young intellectuals back to the region. Getting a great capital may not be the only way to get it but this has proved to be a working strategy | ||
