as i said most of the companies are just exploring options of implementing hadoop. They shud have solid use case in order to implement hadoop. Oka company ki consulting chesaa for hadoop migration replacing thier existing datawarehouse. utter mein gutter flop avuthundi ani use case chudagaane ardham ayyindi. Moved out of project and company sidelined implementation.

Also, as i mentioned below, Hadoop is just one concept of Big-data. My suggestion is, whoever wants to move to this field target Big-data (Hadoop, nosql, pig, hive, hbase, chef, mapreduce etc) otherwise you dont even get a call for interview.

Only hadoop is as same as tomcat or jboss, untarring and changing some config files and nothing else.

same ikkada... market is good.. but all vendors and client calls from desi'sss.. interviews yiragadeestunnaru... marla 60 ki... market ni baaagaa nakinchesaru..

I am interested in hadoop as well.. kakapothe a,b,c telidhu.. work lo current ETL framework ni hadoop tho replacing.. so i have to switch to hadoop inorder to stay..

- Hadoop ki java BG enthavaraku avasaram?
- I have a good ETL BG.. Hadoop lo ekkada ela start cheyali?
- WHo gives affordable and quality training?
- Training should help in certification.

Hadoop administration or hadoop programming??

Only hadoop administration ante kashtam as there shud be a solid use case for the companies to implement Hadoop. Also knowing only hadoop is not going to be useful as one shud know all techs involved in Hadoop. PIG, Hive, Hbase, NoSQL, Chef or puppet etc telisi vundaali. appude fetching vuntundi ee field lo.

Only Hadoop programming ante like writing mapreduce jobs, Java / PIG and how hadoop works telisi vundaali.
