VadraDays after the newly-elected BJP government in Haryana said that Robert Vadra's alleged illegal land deals will be investigated, reports on Thursday said the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi has begun to wind up his businesses in Haryana and Rajasthan. According to the documents provided by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Vadra, who had launched six companies in the two states in 2012, has already closed four of them. The companies that have been shut down include Lifeline Agrotech Private Limited, Greenwave Agro Private Limited, Rightline Agriculture Private Limited and Primetime Agro Private Limited. The remaining two companies - Future Infra Agro Private Limited and Best Seasons Agro Private Limited - are reportedly in the process of closing down. According to reports, Vadra began winding down his companies soon after the BJP-led NDA government came to power in earlier this year. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs records show that the companies were active till May. It is also being alleged that none of these companies filed their annual tax returns or balancesheets since inception. Vadra reportedly holds the position of managing director in all the six companies. Last week, Vadra had snapped at a TV crew on being questioned about his controversial land deals in Haryana. He repeatedly asked "Are you serious?" and once "Are you nuts?" before pushing away the journalist's microphone and calling him an "idiot". The Congress later defended Vadra, calling him a private citizen.
