Simba:HT in basement have no such constraints. You don't live there. So, many prefer bigger speakers than in-walls, unless it is a tiny place. From the room size you specified, it appears as big room. You have a freedom to go with bigger speakers than put up with inwalls.
Thanks Simba..oka clarity vachindi... so kinda mention chesina DT Satellite speakers ok na? |

Kurrokurru:So In wall/ceiling speakers saripotaayi anukontunnanu ee size roon ki or pappu lo kaalesanantara
Here is my take. The quality of speakers by form-factor goes something like: Floor Standing > Bookshelves > Satellites > On-Wall > In-wall From aesthetics (WAF) perspective, most of the people don't want to have big tower speakers in living/family rooms. You can compromise on the quality by going with smaller or behind the wall speakers. The keyword here is compromise. HT in basement have no such constraints. You don't live there. So, many prefer bigger speakers than in-walls, unless it is a tiny place. From the room size you specified, it appears as big room. You have a freedom to go with bigger speakers than put up with inwalls. |

Kurrokurru:In wall vs satellite/book shelf speakers nee opinion enti?
Bhayya naaku first hand info/experience ledu but reading knowledge to cheptunna.. ... my friend in baltimore was also deciding between in-wall vs bookshelf/floorstanding so koncham research chesina few days ago.. this is pretty much useless i believe but still will type Looks wise aithe of course in-wall... u wont see speakers, no space consumption... clean untadi.. but flip side oka sari place aithe move kastam.. In-wall aithe placement/speakers important kada... like wall nunchi couch varaku entha distance undi, will in-wall be powerful enough and produce enough sound or book shelf aithe u can place it close to ur couch kada?.. Also some people said in wall aithe perception of sound will change because floor standing or book shelf aithe oka angled la petti u can make sure the sound is flowing is proper direction towards the audience but in wall kastam ani... Also sound out of in-wall will not be as good as floorstanding or BS speakers ni.. different opinions from what i read.. Naaku personally aithe ... i dnt like in-wall.. dnt know why |

Kurrokurru:Identi.. eppudu vinaledu..
antha easy and simple ga explain cheyyadam kastam emo bhayya but briefly in easy to understand words - form factor perspective... sealed - small, compact and sealed .. so less space consumption.... ported - big compared to sealed and have a port... neeku bhayamkaranga space constraint unde sealed lekapothe ported.. inka sound vishayam ki vasthe base from sealed is tighter and more accurate but low end (ante rumble anuko) not as good as ported.. ported aithe neeku rumble tho sampestadi and they are deeper... will shake the house types annatuu... inka technical terms la roll off is steep for ported and gradual for sealed blah blah Bottom line both sealed and ported are good.. but based on ur need u gotta pick.. If ur primary use is movies go for PORTED... few links for reading http://www.eminence.com/2011/06/sealed-vs-ported-enclosures/ http://www.svsound.com/t/sealed-vs-ported http://www.audioholics.com/loudspeaker-design/sealed-vs-port ed-subwoofers |
