I doubt if Apple likes to venture into TV business. There are more profits on content distribution than selling TVs (hardware). The Apple TV is just a medium for people purchase content (music/movies) and that is bringing lot of money for them. Apple does not believe in physical media anymore. They never offered Bluray drives on Macs and in fact, for past year, they are not even offering SuperDrive which plays DVDs only. OTOH, there was a fight between HD-DVD (lead by Toshiba) and Bluray (lead by Sony) when Xbox 360 came out. MS took Toshiba's side and offered HD-DVD support. Soon bluray won the war and MS adopted it in Xbox One. | ||

We will have higher resolution OLED screens with 3D holographic capabilities. They will have a resolution of 20K+. That is what the future looks like.
