Yes, all the things you have mentioned too. That's why I have used "biggest help" phrase, not "the only help"  Land, water, power and transparency - these are some of the core factors needed for getting the industrial growth on track. This is the reason I think 24*7 power will help AP in a big way. I am so anxious and eager to see the results of all the development that is happening in the state. I understand it takes a lot of time, but, we have started on the path as early as we could, this in itself is an achievement because of the way congi idiots have screwed A people with division. | ||

I think special status to the state of AP as a whole is next to impossible. Special status to rayalaseema and uttarandhra might be a possibility if at all they want to give. Selecting AP for 24*7 power pilot seems to be the biggest help centre is offering at the moment. We will have to wait and watch if centre keeps up its promise of sops and tax breaks that they promised to AP during division and elections time. Even if Hyd's revenue decreases and AP's revenue increases, they have to assist AP as the state is rendered capital and infrastructure less and the cost of time and resources to build the state is huge compared to the tiny increase in AP revenue. Looking at the way things are happening, T will fight tooth and nail to derail any such steps in AP's direction. Though everyone says T is a new state, we have to consider A as a new state for all practical purposes; T is actually a subset of the old AP state with everything intact with just a name change. A has nothing except retaining the old name. | ||

What? Everybody on this forum already lost interest in special category status to AP? If that's the case, the central government too may not hesitate to forget about it! Since TS government explicitly asked for "whatever" is granted to AP, they may not make any noise about it if AP doesn't get it. | ||

Any updates on special category status to AP? So far, has AP been granted any exemptions from central taxes? Also, any cash from her centre to make up for the revenue deficit they has arisen due to loss of revenues from Hyderabad? There are a lot of reports that Hyderabad revenues have been declining rapidly and AP's revenues are seeing an increase. Would the centre use this as an excuse to back out of its promise to grant tax exemptions and also provide grants? |
