Braindrain:

I am only trying to saying that there were days when movies used to release on a same date giving a variety of options to audience. He / She could make choices which movie can I go...

You did not get my point...you still have a choice to skip the big movie, especially, when you yourself say all movies are template based...your reluctant watching of the big, only movie in all theaters is sending wrong signal to the ugly heroes, they are thinking everyone is watching their movies because they like them.

Braindrain:

do you think Heros are justifying the role...With a standard template...Brahmandam jokes, slapping each other and a movie running on a merit of the scenes rather than the actors who need to enhance the scene

if this is the case, why is everyone still watching these template movies? until audience won't reject these template movies, they will keep on doing these.

Dreamcatcher:

Thanks for your suggestion...INspite of the whole context to my post, you could only make out that I am forced to watch a movie...NO..that was not my point..I am only trying to saying that there were days when movies used to release on a same date giving a variety of options to audience. He / She could make choices which movie can I go...but now they hold the release of a small or big movie to ensure one gets all the openings required...It is killing the actual competition.

And secondly, do you think Heros are justifying the role...With a standard template...Brahmandam jokes, slapping each other and a movie running on a merit of the scenes rather than the actors who need to enhance the scene

Braindrain:

A movie goer is forced to go to the movie of no choice left. For eg : IF I went to X-roads in Hyd, I happen to see the same movie in Sandhya, Sudarshan, Devi & Odeon theatres. So I take a chance to get into the theater..

no one is forcing you to buy a ticket at the counter...you are doing it at your own choice...you still have an option to go home and spend time with family/friends.

Braindrain:

Monkey looking heros, skin show heroines, charater artists who do not even know what they are saying

As long as actors do justice to their roles, how does this matter?

Time_waste:

All the present generation who claim heros not by their looks but by their father's names..Honestly if the following guys if not releated to movie industry, will anyone take them as a hero in a TV serial..

1. Mohan Babu's Sons
2. Dasari, Raghavendra Rao, K S Rama Rao, EVV, Suresh's Sons
3. Brahmandam, M S Narayana's Son
4. Allu Clan or for that matter any other hero son.
5. Nagarjuna's Son.
6. Even Chiranjeevi's son.

Let's put fanism a side and think as a neutral and normal movie goer.

HIT from two angles :

COMMERICAL ASPECT -

From the birth of CINEMA, the profits earned by the investor on a film (be it producer or distributor or exhibitor) was declared as a HIT FILM.

If a producer invests 100 rupees to make a film, and sells it for 150 to a distributor = Producer makes 50 rupess profit and hence it is a HIT proposition for a producer.

Now if the movie collects 200 out of which the distributor pays 20 towards the exhibition rents (theatre) and makes 30 more than his 150, so it is profit for the distributor and hence a HIT movie for the distributor.

MOVIE - GOER ASPECT -

From the audiences perspective, if a majority of the cine goers who watched a particuar movie is liked and pulls them back to the theatre again (repeat audience & thru positive word of mouth), people call it is as GOOD / HIT movie.

The more the repeat audience the more the LONGEVITY of a movie, which made a good movie run for 100 days, 25 weeks (Silver Jubille), 365 days (Golden Jubilee) and some exceptions like Sholay, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, DDLJ ran for years breaking milestones like Diamond Jubilee, Platnium Jubilee, 100 weeks, 1000 weeks.

THIS WAS THE STANDARD, normal and plain vanila definition of a HIT MOVIE

Today's scenerio :

Inflate the movie cost, release it with a grand audio function to hype the pre-release of a movie, release in 1000+ theatres, advertise in all TV channels, radio, news papers. A movie goer is forced to go to the movie of no choice left. For eg : IF I went to X-roads in Hyd, I happen to see the same movie in Sandhya, Sudarshan, Devi & Odeon theatres. So I take a chance to get into the theater..

With Multiplex cost, movie makes 40 crores mark in Telugu & 100 crores mark in Hindi...Even if that mark is not sufficient for producer, he can still sell the movie for satellite rights, dubbing rights & remake rights make money..

In the overall process CONTENT is taking a back seat. Noone is bothered about the movie goer...Monkey looking heros, skin show heroines, charater artists who do not even know what they are saying, are rubbed against the poor movie lover who has to spend 1000 rupess to take his family to a theatre (multipex).

Movie industry is NOT bothered about the master pieces, classics and repeat audience anymore. I got my money back is what they need.

Honestly from my perspective the last good movie which I saw in a theatre and felt like watching it again is 3 Idiots in Hindi & Magadheera in Telugu (2009). Not sure when will I experience such a feeling again as it is more than 4 years now...

Heros charging 10 crores, giving money back, producers selling at highest bids, gullible distributors going by the hype and not content and the monopoly of exhibitors who control a release of a movie...ALL these F***ers are killing the passion and love of a geninue MOVIE GOER.

This is not only in Telugu, but across the globe. Waiting for this phase to pass by soon....

My 250th post in last 2 years is my outcry on these diluted and fake HIT movies
