A diamond merchant from Surat has put a smile on his employees faces after he gifted them cars, homes and jewellery as Diwali bonus in a stunning act of generosity, Oprah-style. Chairman of Hari-Krishna Exports, Savjibhai Dholakia, gave the surprise bonus to nearly 1,200 members of staff. He gifted 491 Fiat Punto cars to employees who did not have one. About 200 employees who did not have a house got flats from him while nearly 525 employees were given gold and diamond jewellery. Dholakia said he set aside Rs 50 crore budget for these incentives. He said the idea was simply to reward employees who met the yearly targets.
