Your attempts at trying to do something different to get over it is exactly what everybody does, try to do something different than what you are doing to find if that brings you a sense of achievement. This was idenfitied by a person called Abraham Maslow's who said these are Hierarchy of needs where life is divided in to phases phases from bottom to top : 5. self-actualization 4. self esteem 3. relationships/love 2. security for life 1. Biological needs you are at a place where you need to find self-actualization goal and you are in the process of finding it. As per suggestions from various people in the DB find something that interests you, some cause , looks like you are concerned about people so identify some social cause and try to go slow, you can identify with some charity or deaf/dumb/blind school/children. There is nothing like supporting these unfortunate children who are waiting for some good basic help.
