u guys hv rightly put... ee big tech brands..FB,google etc...only some services work..for example google hyderabad lo oka project nadustondhi...enti ante..chrome testing results is data for them... so some analasys and producing reports on that data...chalaa mandhi indian vendors like tcs vallani hire chesukuntaadu...hyderabad campus lo...brand big..projects...same old crap...so they don't waste office space in silicon valley US for these type of projects India lo proper R&D jarigedhi...VLSI and electronic based companies...like TI,huawai,..qualcomm etc... that is where story started in Bangalore ...this again roots down to that city as it has largest national research institutes like ISRO,BEML,HAL,BEL etc.. so from there it took the catch up | ||

flipkart and quite a few other software companies are doing great work in india. but, companies like MS and google do low value work in india. you can safely assume that, bangalore will take the cream of india's work in any company, be it MS or google. coming to hardware, TI is the ONLY company which does equal quality work compared to US branches. Intel is one more company which does good work.. good thing entante, VLSI field lo, even verification kuda high paying jobs chala untayi.. thats what is taken by indian branches mostly. Yes... I know senior folks who have relocated from the US to work in Qualcomm and TI here but you will not find anyone who has done so from Google or FB unless they are management folks. That is because of the low quality work in the latter case. Google certainly does not run their APAC operations from Hyderabad and nor does FB. | ||

None of these big product companies do any important R&D work here. Yahoo was doing something marginally, but after Marissa Mayer she came, she centralised most of the important work back in Sunnyvale. Yahoo has actually come down from 3 buildings to one building over the last 2 years. As far as Google is concerned, they do even less R&D in India. Most of their work in Hyderabad is basically operational stuff - Adwords donkey work, customer support, cataloguing, some accounting captive work etc. FB - even more so. Even Amazon is in the same bucket. The only guys who do some decent work are MSFT and the networking guys like CISCO, TI, Qualcomm etc. | ||

I knew that was the case before...for some reason, I had the impression that this changed considerably over the past 4-5 years....and that Google and FB were doing some of their core work here... So, compared to top software companies then Hardware (VLSI/ASIC-design) companies are a lot better I guess in India. There are many top notch hardware companies like TI (Texas Instruments) and Qualcomm, etc., which have strong R&D teams in India... | ||

i donno about US.. but here in Hyd and other asian countries, google hiring is two types.. one for technical work. well paid salaries - google range.. second type.. mostly data entry types (testing/validation of their various maps/data projects).. less than 30k per month salary. hyderabad is home to such kind of jobs now. Dude, Google employee hiring in India is not as strict as in US...I interviewed with Google and I know the process in US, but in India the process isn's as tough. Anyways, Google is just one potential company. BTW, the 2 guys I spoke to are confirmed R2I guys they didn't even buy homes here in the Bay Area...But given a chance their first preference is Vizag if some MNCs start there... | ||
