and its not like Modi is making special efforts to come here. his first UN visit so continuing that trip makes sense. |

Ringo_rangaswamy:Lets be clear Obama has NOT given PM Modi a red carpet welcome.
what BS. clearly when hillary was around, she was a b*tch to Modi. soon after Modi was elected, the obama govt had to backtrack. kerry came packing and also that desi lady. they know Modi's value and are quite eager to engage with him. sep 27th and 28th, Obama has one personal and one official dinner planned with him. clinton foundation is hosting him. US does not care about emotions, only interests. we all need to learn from that. Modi is exactly like them; so it is an even match. |

US opinion about Modi is irrelevant to him.......we need their cooperation in lot of areas Irrespective of personal relations between leaders |

This is an inappropriate time for Modi to visit USA. Indo-Pak relations are strained.USA is siding with Pakistan to resume talks.Chinese incursions are threatening India.USA will never side with India due to its business interests with China.India's diplomatic hold on Asia Pacific is in its lowest ebb.India's economy is tottering. There cannot be an even bargain in such woeful situation.Mr Modi should have revived the economy ,gain some stronghold in Asia Pacific Region and then invite Mr Obama to India instead of him going to USA without his personal visa being reinstated. And yet PM Modi is going to the US on UN diplomatic visa, Obama only meeting him out of diplomacy , lets not forget the US did NOT issue visa or the US President to formal invitation unlike UK PM Cameron who has formally invited PM Modi and asked him to address the mother of parliament. Its a missed opportunity. But many US NRI who are supporters of Obama have forgotten the Obama and US only recently started engagement not by chose but events forced them. The political nativity of US NRI is shocking. Lets be clear Obama has NOT given PM Modi a red carpet welcome. I fear PM Modi has thus made his position as international statesmen weaker to accept a diplomatic meeting and not a State level invite. |
