Following comment sums up what happened  My home is in an exclusive gated community with security protection. I go to bed with my girlfriend after a heated argument. I have both legs in casts from a bad skiing accident so I can't get around too easily. In the middle of the night I hear someone in the bathroom with the door closed and the lights on. My first instinct is not that my girlfriend has gotten up in the middle of the night to use the toilet, but that an intruder has entered my home and is holed up in my master bathroom. Even though it would be easier to quietly reach over in the bed next me to ascertain if my girlfriend is still asleep in the bed, I instead reach for my gun and unload a clip into the bathroom door killing my girlfriend Afterwards, I tearfully claim that it never occurred to me that it was my girlfriend in the bathroom. Also, I am not a national athletic hero, jut a successful businessman. What is a judge or a jury in the US likely to conclude ? Do you think I walk ? | ||
