Mrhyderabad:If it is just one app then you should consider publishing it on Citrix XenApp or VMware and thin app combo... so that you don't have to provide entire VM to users. You can just publish and stream individual app to users.
Interesting idea. Naakenduko ee idea raledu. Probably I can do this. |

You can just publish and stream individual app to users. 1/3rd cost compared to providing dedicated VM. I only read OP. Pls ignore if I got the requirement wrong. Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein |

@wellsfargo. when I was working with an MNC as a system admin, our client (one england based airways) was mainly focused on converting their entire server farm to virtual (windows, esx). out of some thirteen hundred servers, we made migration preparations for five hundred servers. later I left that job and I heard that mnc lost the contract. so virtualization is big and imperative. you can plan accordingly ! |

Bushu:what is the product, if you dont mind?
It is a automated workflow system which integrates easily into any kind of web services and also has pre made hooks into SAP, Oracle Apps, Sales Force etc. We have also integrated Kettle ETL, Jasper Reports and Saiku Analytics. It all started as a Health care work flow system but two months ago the health care customer made us do lot of modifications. we made it generic enough such that it can be applied to any industry. Marketing and packaging meeda work chestunnam currently.. choodali ekkadiki pothado.. |

Nenu pedda vaadini kaadu le. edo normal DB person ni. Monna ee madhya ne junior artist nundi side hero ayya DB lo.. Anyways to answer your question, my application can work on Ubuntu or centOS. I will strip out the unnecessary parts of these OS and distribute my application. so RedHat EWS kaani, windows server kaani akkarledu licensing ki. so my product cost will not increase due to OS licensing. Anyways aa Amazon Image chinnadi cheyyadaniki ee excercise already chesanu so that the trial users of my system can fit into their free tier usage. |

these days most of the applications are installed on VMs only till this part is ok but this idea is definetly new providing with product installed on VM image , in this case you have to also consider VM license and operating system license who is going to bare this you or your customer ... if it is you how it will be extra cost barden on your product , if it your customer how can you sell the product without license dosent look impressive for the highend customers. Please ignore if this appears to be a stupid for your thread or if you hate discussing with lowlevel people on product selling. Hyderabad State lo Telangana State Party ki enti sambandam. |

Guys, I am about to release my product into the market from my start up. It is an enterprise product. I am releasing it as a SaaS model for businesses which don't mind having a solution on the cloud. I am also releasing a AMI (amazon machine image) for any organization if they want to use it exclusively from AWS. However majority of organizations may not want to have a third party hosted solution. I don't want to give installers, zips, wars etc as majority of my source code is covered under apache license and I need to do a legal sweep before distributing. In the previous company that I worked for, majority of the enterprise software is deployed on virtual machines. So I am planning on providing a VM image with the OS and the application so that the IT personnel gets the tool up and running in a few minutes on the ESX server. Does this cover majority of the enterprises or is this a minority? Please ignore if this appears to be a spam for this DB or if you hate discussing work in this DB. |
