20 years back there was a proposal to build flyovers in vijawada from AutoNagar to gollapudi on bandar road , this has nothing to do with any capital. Nothing was done, but the city expanded beyond the limits . How the hell is a metro even justified. Where is the population, the traffic, the business potential to even merit a metro. Babu ilanti thikka thikka veshalu mani, he should rather invest it in creating a world class "new" city, which is small, planned and smart. Metro valla paisa upayogam undadhu. But what he should do is that whatever capital is being planned should have the flexibility that it can take a metro in 15-20 years without any fresh demolitions or road widening. Govt. finances ki bokka. First of all central govt. will not fund these nonsensical ideas, so the state has to fund it themselves, that will lead to a steep deficit to the state. Manaki dabbulu baga surplus ga unna kooda, there are better ways of using it than create a white elephant. Deenemma, Vijayawada, Vizag, Guntur lo underground drainage kooda undadhu, superspecialty hospitals levu - spending on metros is a just totally wrong prioritisation. Andhra Pradesh government is set to execute two metro rail projects in Visakhapatnam and VGTM (Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri) areas of the state. AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu held discussions with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's (DMRC) principal advisor E Sreedharan in this regard here on Monday. The construction of the projects has been assigned to DMRC and Sreedharan has been appointed as the advisor for the two projects. Naidu is said to have asked Sreedharan to prepare a feasibility report and to finish both the projects within three and a half years.
